The new School of Law building is now complete.

The project, valued at around $3.7m, was partly funded by the University and partly from donations from the Law Fraternity and other commercial sponsors. This exciting new facility establishes Murdoch as the premier Law School in the state.

The building houses a 150 seat lecture theatre (incorporating a state-of-the-art electronic Moot Court), two tutorial rooms, two computer laboratories, the Law administrative offices and offices for SCALES. A Moot Court is a mock court where hypothetical cases are tried to educate students in courtroom procedure as well as the application of new technologies in the courtroom.

The Freehills Lecture Theatre, in operation since the beginning of 2004, has been applauded by all academic teaching staff for its flexibility, ambiance and the state-of-the-art technology which enhances the teaching and learning experience.

On the ground floor, opposite the Clayton Utz Computer Laboratory is the Law Cafe that spills out onto a garden area and has become a popular meeting place for Law students and faculty staff.
