Notice to Overseas Competitors - Attacks on Indian Students in Australia

Some teams travelling from overseas, and particularly India, have expressed concerns regarding recent media coverage of attacks on Indian students in Australia.

Whilst the Moot organizers do not wish to trivialize or dismiss these concerns, it should be noted that these reported attacks and resultant protest actions have been concentrated mainly in certain parts of Sydney and Melbourne. There have been no reports to suggest that students staying in the vicinity of the University of Queensland are at any heightened risk to their personal safety.

Obviously, all visitors to the Moot are urged to exercise the same caution and common sense that they would when visiting any foreign city, such as travelling in groups, and staying within well-lit and populated areas where possible.
