Welcome to Moot Court Bench

Welcome to the Moot Court Bench website. The Moot Court Bench was established by Professor Gabriel Moens in 2006 and is now coordinated by Dr Vernon Nase. It is a student body dedicated to encourage mooting activities around the law school. It recruits 12 members every year.
The Moot Court Bench is committed to providing students with the highest standard of legal advocacy education possible. This includes giving students the opportunity to participate in many local and international moots and coaching students on mooting.

Our focus is to help students improve their advocacy, research and writing skills though mooting. Our activities include writing mooting manuals, coordinating local and international mooting competitions, giving mooting presentations and seminars, making mooting videos, inviting highly regarded legal advocates to talk to Murdoch Law School law students and many more. Many of our members come up with creative ideas every year to try to make mooting as enjoyable an experience as possible.

Murdoch University is also most interested in building international relationships with other universities from around the world through its mooting competitions. If you are interested in such an opportunity, or finding out more about the Moot Court Bench, please contact Dr V. Nase.

The Moot Court Bench is a 4 point elective subject that is taken over two consecutive semesters. Intake occurs every semester. Students considering applying for positions on the Moot Court Bench should download the application form here .
