The Macquarie Bank Australasian Law (ALB) Awards Dinner

The Macquarie Bank Australasian Law (ALB) Awards Dinner was held in the Westin, Sydney on Thursday, 21 May 2009. More than 600 lawyers attended the Dinner. George Walmsley, Chief Operating Officer and Regional Managing Editor, Australasian Legal Business Magazine said in his Welcome: “This year, the legal industry responded in unprecedented numbers to ALB’s request for nominations and information, meaning the quantity and quality of information used to select the finalists exceeds that of previous years. All this means that in the 2009 Awards more than ever before, just to be named as a finalist is an achievement indeed.”

Murdoch Law School sponsored the Perth Law Firm of the Year Award, which was one of 31 awards on offer. The Dean of Law, Professor Gabriël Moens attended the event and announced the Winner of the Award. This year’s winner was Jackson McDonald. Jackson McDonald also received the Award in 2007 and 2008. The other finalists were Pullinger Readhead Lucas, Cochrane Lishman and Blakiston & Crabb.
