Orientation Day 2008

WELCOME TO OUR INCOMING CLASS OF 2008

The Hon. Justice Michael Murray addresses the incoming class

The School of Law held its Orientation Day for the incoming class of 2008 on Friday, 15 February 2008. The Dean of Law, Professor Gabriël Moens welcomed the School’s new students (Click here to view a transcript of the Dean’s address ). His welcoming address was followed by a speech by the Hon. Justice Michael John Murray, Justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia who spoke about his career in the law. He also encouraged students to excel in their studies and to study diligently. The Murdoch Students Law Society (MSLS), led by its President, Ms Courtney Robertson, then provided the incoming class with information on MSLS competitions, social and educational activities. Following morning tea which was held in the ECL courtyard, Louise Watson addressed students on the Australian Law Students’ Association (ALSA), followed by guided tours of the Law School, the Freehills Electronic Moot Court and the Law Library.
