Anna Copeland
Senior Lecturer/Clinical Assistant Director

Anna Copeland has been employed at the Murdoch University law School since 1999. She is the Assistant Director of the School of Law ’s clinical legal education program at SCALES. She is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and is currently completing postgraduate work at Murdoch University . She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and a registered Migration Agent.
Ms Copeland teaches in the Clinical Legal Education unit and the Advanced Clinical Legal Education Unit where she supervises students in representing and advocating on behalf of clients. She has also taught International Human Rights Law as an adjunct lecturer at Curtin University .
Primary areas of research interest are the law as it affects children and young people, human rights and clinical education. While on sabbatical in 2004 Ms Copeland was able to visit and work with clinical programs in the US , UK , Mexico and Argentina , as well as taking up a visiting scholar position at the International Institute of the Sociology of Law in Onati , Spain .
Ms Copeland has previously worked for the Youth Legal Service, Women’s Legal Service and has acted as a locum at Consumer Credit Legal Service and Legal Aid.
