Ms Sonia Walker
Lecturer
BA. (Hons), LLB., M.Phil.
Sonia Walker BA(Hons), LLB, M.Phil was a foundation student in the School of Law at Murdoch University. After completing postgraduate qualifications, she worked in the Legal Studies Programme at Edith Cowan University and as a tutor for Indigenous Law students studying at the University of Western Australia. Sonia commenced teaching in the Law School at Murdoch University in 1996. She coordinates and lectures in Contract Law, Remedies and Constitutional Law. She has also taught Feminist Legal Theory and Women and Human Rights Law. Throughout her time at Murdoch University, Sonia has maintained a strong commitment to teaching. She has received several nominations for teaching excellence.
Sonia’s main research interests are in the areas of legal history, feminist legal theory and women and the law. She has worked as an editor for the law journal “Sister in Law”and the WA edition of the “Alternative Law Journal”. Her current research project is on women and Constitutional Law.
