Professor Dr. Neil McLeod

Professor
Ph.D., LL.M., LL.B.(Hons.), B.Ec.

Professor of Law from 1997, Dr McLeod joined the Murdoch University School of Law as an Associate Professor in 1992. Professor McLeod is a graduate of the Australian National University (B.Ec. 1977; LL.B. (Hons.) 1979) and of the National University of Ireland (LL.M. 1983; Ph.D. 1985).

Before coming to Murdoch, Professor McLeod was a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Australian National University. He has also taught Law at University College, Dublin, University College, Galway and the Riverina College of Advanced Education. He has completed books on DNA profiling, Australian tax legislation and early Irish contract law, and has published articles in the areas of evidence law, taxation law, forensic linguistics, legal education, and medieval law.

Professor McLeod is Convenor of the Clear Writing Committee of the Law Society of Western Australia, Chair of the PACDIL project (Published Additions and Corrections to the Dictionary of the Irish Language), and a member of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland. He is a member of the referee panel for the Journal of the Australian Early Medieval Association.
